but was he resigning anyway? take a look at this video from last evening. at least three twisters tearing through leaving at least 6 people dead this morning. more than 100 people have been hurt and 14 are missing at this hour. joining us now with the breaking details, ainsley earhardt. >> good morning patti ann and heather. the city hit the worst gran berry texas. 30 miles southwest of fort worth. officials rushing as many as 50 people to the hospital. crews are searching for even more. >> we have i think 18 personnel had bulldozers out there trying to get people in and get people out. it was a war zone like we have saw in the past with returns from the coast. it was bad. >> at this point many people are thankful they are alive.

>> our neighborhood is gone. it's just gone. we made it, but there's people missing still. there's a lot of hurt people out there. >> the severe thunderstorms left the roads flooded and hail the size of golf balls. take a look at this picture. that's a ball of hail. >> there's a lot of heavy winds and rain the hail is coming down. we had golf sized hail. after that the wind got real high. we knew it was coming. we ran into the hallway. while we were in the hallway we could hear the sirens and we actually heard, it sounded like a train. we could feel the walls shaking and the wind. it was real heavy, heavy, heavy. >> unbelievable. we will bring you all of the latest updates as they develop this morning. back to you patti ann and

heather. >> we are joined right now on the phone by the comblier of the town hardest hit. cleburn texas. we are so sorry you are dealing with this morning. can you tell us about the extent of the damages there? >> the damage is very extensive. we have neighborhoods that could be totally gone we have hundreds of homes damaged multiple dozens that are total losses. our city, cleburne has fortunately not lost any lives like granbury. our heart breaks for our sister city. as the sun goes up we will continue to go house to house and search for citizens making sure folks are in good shape.

>> mayor cain it will be quite a job from what we understand. the tornado when it hit your city was a mile wide. it hit the southwestern quadrant described as a courthouse city. what would be your estimate in terms of financially what kind of hit your city has taken? >> it will be in multiple counts of millions of dollars once my family was secured at home i made it to city hall to start making certain our citizens were safe first. as the sun comes up what i am seeing is massive amounts of damage similar to going into a war zone. >> we are seeing pictures of that. i know texas is good, very good at getting alerts out when tornadoes are coming. what kind of heads up did your

folks get? >> we had tremendous amounts of early warning from the media to our local first response team. we gave our citizens a lot of warning. officials were warned and ready to go. had we not had the early warning we would have been looking at a tremendous amount of fatalities. >> that is good news they got the early warning. thank you for joining us this morning and please keep us posted as the sun starts to rise and you learn more about the condition of your town and citizens there. mayor scott cain from cleburne, texas. >> good morning maria. >> an unfortunate situation everything that happened across this section of texas. we still have the storms ongoing. over the evening hours and through out the overnight hours we saw the strong storms produce three recorded tornadoes across

north central texas one east of wichita falls and one granbury, texas which is reported to be a mile wide. there are reports homes are leveled and that would mean that would a stronger tornado classified as an es 3, ef 4 possibly an ef-5 tornado. we will survey the damage and determine how strong that tornado possibly was. if it were an ef 5 that would mean possibly winds over 200 miles an hour. it is all preliminary. crews need to take a look at the damage. we have reports of very large sized hail. there are reports for multiple counties that some of these hail were baseball sized, grapefruit size that would cause significant damage to these areas. we have 14 reports of damaging winds gusts one of them being at 80 miles an hour. that of course causes damage

bringing down tree branchs and also power lines. that is something we will continue to also monitor. we could potentially see the number of tornadoes rise once survey crews continue to rise. wind damage h. the tornado was said to have been a mile wide in granbury it is southwest of dallas, texas not too far away from one of the cities in the united states. we still have the storms ongoing. we have a thunderstorm watch meaning damaging winds large hail still possible including the city of austin, texas. this is in effect 6:00 a.m. local time so central time over the next couple days we have a threat for more severe storms in tennessee, mississippi by friday. patti ann, heather we think this will be a larger risk as far as severe weather goes including tornadoes north dakota,

minnesota, down into sections of kansas as well. >> aloft crazy weather. >> make sure viewers send us pictures. go out safely make sure there are no power lines down. tweet them at maria molina or fox and friends first. >> there are other big stories developing the white house releasing 100 pages of e-mails about the benghazi terror attacks. it is known as a document coming just in the evening. the e-mail is showing the state department repeatedly objected to the first account of the attack. the initial talking points have references to al qaeda and to terrorism. when the final points were approved those references were completely gone. it we are in washington, d.c. with the details with elizabeth

prann. what happens today about all of this? >> we are going to learn more about the conversation between the white house and the state department. it took place 48-hours before u.n. ambassador susan rice went on all of the sunday talk shows. first of all the talking points requested were after a closed meeting with general petraeus. the first draft was done a little before 11:00 a.m. on the 14th. as the guys on the e-mail shows then white house director john brennan who is the director of the cia said they tweaked it. jay carney said they were only minor tweaks. >> that initial information that includes all information we saw no evidence to back up claims by others that it was a preplanned or pre-meditated attack. >> the early drafts read we know islamic extremists with ties to al qaeda participated in the

attack. hours later that day both al qaeda and attacks were deleted. it had been replaced with quote violent demonstrations. state department spokesman victoria newland they show evidence of communication between her leadership and national security staff to soften sop some of the language in the talking points. the first example: language about the cia's prior red flags were addressed and she suggested taking them out. as some lawmakers tell us such as lindsay gram and jason chafus we don't have all of the documents at all. >> i know absolutely for total

certain at this this is a small anying goj. there are 25,000 documents. >> e-mails? >> a lot of them e-mails a lot of them unclassified. the white house has hand selected these. >> speaking about the tip of the iceberg the author of the review report have agreed to testify on their findings. this is certainly just the beginning. back to you. >> elizabeth pran in washington. thank you so much. >> thanks. now for your other headlines. new overnight a break in the case of missing utah mom susan powell. you may remember she vanished back in 2009. investigators with cadaver dogs searching a farm in oregon after receiving a tip it was once occupied by an aunt and uncle of susan's husband. josh powell a person of interest in his wife's disappearance. he killed his son in a house

fire last year. they are starting to believe there was no red flags about dzhokhar tsarnaev. they have not found any behavior that stands out including using jihad web sites or violent rhetoric. they say any radicalization appears to have happened at the last minute. but tamerlan tsarnaev fits the framework of a home grown terrorist. >> the jodi heir i can't sarias found she killed her boyfriend in a cruel manner. that makes her eligible for the death penalty. the families are set to take the stand. no word if arias herself will testify. she recently commented she would prefer the death penalty to life in prison. >> department of justice is under fire for swiping associated press records.

with the budget cycle. doug luzader has more. >> this is likely to be the first among many responses to the irs scandal as the white house tries to get ahead of news that seems to grow more troubling each day. steven miller is the first to go. the acting commissioner of the irs apparently was scheduled to leave that postanyway. the president used his ouster to show the white house is responsive. >> given the controversy surrounding this audit it is important to institute new leadership that can help restore confidence going forward. >> the president would not take any questions part of an effort to manage the controversy. he is expected to take two questions from reporters later today but that's about it as the white house battles multiple scandals some over shadowed now by this irs issue and republican attacks over the targeting of conservative groups. >> my question isn't about who is going to resign, my question

you a we are talking reports coming out of granbury texas. reports coming out of the area homes were possibly completely leveled. that would mean the tornado could tpossibly be an ef 3 or 4 or possibly 5. winds of 136 miles per hour or combrater than th-- greater tha. this is a significant development across north central texas. this happened at 8:00 p.m. eastern time. it would be 5:00 p.m. local time across this parts of the country and texas. three reported tornadoes. the other big story is we have reports of very large sized hail like you saw we saw reports ch baseball sized hail golf ball sized hail and out of granbury texas the hail was possibly grapefruit size causing damage to cars. the wind gusts up to 80 miles an

hour out of johnson county and texas. that in itself could bring down power lines tree branchs. devastating out here across parts of texas. it happened during the evening hours yesterday. you can see the thunderstorms ripping through this part of the country. that's why we could have seen the tornadoes touching them in the area. tornado warnings were likely issued. we have the storms on the move producing heavy rain. we had a severe thunderstorm watch out of southeastern texas that has been lifted because the severe weather potential is weakening. as we head into tomorrow we expect more severe weather in parts of mississippi southwestern seks of tennessee. if you live in memphis you could be looking at possible severe storms damaging winds and isolated tornadoes possible. as we head into saturday there is a new storm system that will develop and we are expecting more severe weather out here across the north central section

have the right to be angry about it i am angry about it. i will not tolerate this in any agency but especially the irs given the power it has and the reach it has in all of our lives. the question all along has been how high up does it go? despite initial claims the extra scrutiny was the work of owe level workers in the cincinnati office. they were aware of this conduct while congress was told it had not occurred. >> the question isn't about who will resign my question is who is going to jail over the scandal. >> there are calls for a special prosecutor to prosecute this. they are expected to answer maybe one, two, maybe three questions about this during a brief press appearance. that's about it as the white house tries to minimize the

>> nine till the top of the hour. another story developing this morning. targeting conservative groups may not be the only scandal for the i.r.s. the agency is also the subject of a class action lawsuit. that suit claims 15 i.r.s. agents improperly seized the medical records of ten million americans totaling 60 million records. there has been no comment yet from the i.r.s. sketchers owes 520,000 people an $80 refund to settle a class action lawsuit bought by people who bought those toning shoes. they claimed the company falsely advertised the shoes would help them lose weight and tone muscles. a judge agreed. >> let's head to washington where tensions remain high on capitol hill. yesterday attorney general eric holder facing tough questions about the secret seizure of associated press
